Does your cat or dog need to be ID-tagged?
I am authorized ID-tagger, call 070-671 92 70 me for an
appointment! |
 |
| Why ID-tagging? |
 |
Since 2001 there is a law that says that all dogs must
be ID-tagged and ownerregistered at the Swedish Board
of Agriculture.
ID-tagging provides an increased legal protection for
both animals and owners. |
 |
Responsibility of animal ownership and damage responsibility
is increased.
It is easier to find owners of found animals.
It facilitates the animal supervision.
Identification of reasons to protect from infection, at
breeding and competitions. |
 |
 |
 |
| Veterinaries or authorized ID-taggers may chipmark
dogs and cats. From January 1st 2009 there will be a new
law, which means that ID-tagging with chip will be mandatory.
It is the OWNER who is responsible of making sure that
the dog/cat will be ID-tagged. |
 |
 |
 |
| The line of action is relatively easy and painful. You
inject the chip subkutant (under the skin) and then read
off the chip number with a reader. Komplikations is very
unusual but can occur in the forms of a small bleeding
or an abscess. In most cases they will heal themselves.
Migration (when the chip moves around) has occured, but
is completely harmless and will not need any treatment. |
